The C&R 2016-2020 CTS-V (V3) supercharger heat exchanger (SYN-56-00016) mounts in the stock location using factory hoses and clamps.
C&R took their NASCAR proven 27mm race core and adapted it to the 3rd generation CTS-V market. This unit is a drop in and its sole purpose is to keep your blower air intake temps (IATs) lower.
Heat exchangers are a critical component to any boosted application. When you compress air (via a turbo or supercharger) it heats up. When you cool the intake air it becomes more dense and you essentially amplify the effectiveness of your blower. Additionally, if IATs run too high your ECM/ECU will actually pull engine timing to compensate for the hotter forced air and this directly affects power.
Beyond the primary heat exchanger you should consider upgrading your LT4 supercharger intercooler bricks as well which act as the other side of the heat exchanger system. Together, the heat exchanger and brick setup is the best way to get heat out of a boosted system.
C&R's design is a perfect fit and replacement for the stock heat exchanger. Included in this kit is the 27mm race core. You simply reuse all of your stock factory hoses, clamps and mounting hardware. This is a must have part for increased boost and/or in warmer climates.
